For sale we have a set of three vintage Danish mid-century teak faced laminated plywood occasional stools designed by Astor Glibstrup for Frederikssmund for Mobelfabrik circa 1960.
These are an unusual design that I've not come across before, the three legged base is nickel coated and similar to the Arne Jacobsen stool, but the teak laminated plywood seat is similar to the Mogens Lassen stool in having a beautiful curve to its form.
I can't describe how lovely they actually look in the flesh, the contour of the seat is wonderful and the rich patination of the teak wood is very special.
Measurements : 48 cm H x 39 cm W x 26 cm D
Condition : Excellent, there is some light pitting to the nickel plated legs which will clean off (I prefer not to clean and restore) the seats are gorgeous with a deep honey glow and are split free with just minor marks/wear to the edges as to be expected commensurate with their age.
